The certificate, Nursing Assistant or formerly Health Assistant, Hygiene and Community can either be clinical or preventive. Thus, NAC (HAC) OR NAP and they receive their training in CHNTS (Community Health Nurses’ Training School), (HATS) Health Assistants Training School and SOH (School of Hygiene).
*UNIFORM:* the certificate levels put on in time past was a brown uniform but they currently put on raw green with cape also green.
The minimum entry requirement is at least E8 from WASSCE and the duration is two (2) years after which you work as a nurse assistant. You cannot use a NAC/NAP certificate to enroll directly into a diploma or degree unless you have corrected your passes from the SHS WASSCE and have obtained a minimum of C6 or you do a top-up through a bridging programme and upon successful completion, you get to upgrade.
